The post had sparked a storm of outrage overnight. SP city party leader Benjamin Plach described it as “racist and last-class”. “Racism is not a calling card for a federal state that relies so heavily on tourism,” said National Green Councilor Barbara Neßler. The Greens of Innsbruck, who at least provide the mayor, demanded the resignation of Ischia.
