A 41-year-old driver, his 40-year-old wife and their six- and 10-year-old children, as well as the 44-year-old tractor driver, were taken to the Wels Clinic, police said Wednesday morning.
The accident had occurred the day before around 5:30 pm.: The 44-year-old from the Wels-Land district skidded with his tractor and finally hit the opposite lane.
At the same time, he came across a car in which a family of four from the Gmunden district was sitting. The father could no longer evade and crashed the car into the tractor trailer on which an excavator had been transported. As a result, the trailer and the moored excavator tipped over onto the car. The Turkish driver and his wife, as well as the tractor driver, were seriously injured in some cases. The two children suffered minor injuries.
The five injured received first aid from the ambulance service and emergency doctors from the emergency doctor’s helicopter and the emergency doctor’s vehicle and were transported to the surrounding hospitals. The fire brigade supported the subsequent cleanup efforts. An excavator company first recovered the excavator, then the trailer and tractor that had been involved in the accident and the Großendorfer Strasse was closed to traffic for around three hours.
