The crown traffic light would have to turn red for Vienna after the cases. But things also seem critical in other parts of the country.
The federal capital has significantly exceeded the limit of 100 corona cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The 7-day incidence in Vienna soared to 116.5 cases in the last week. According to this value, the Vienna Traffic Light Commission should have changed to red, but after a “risk adjustment” it remained orange, “Today” reported.
But a look at the current situation of the crown in Austria shows that the situation is not only getting worse in the federal capital. In other parts of the country, too, cases have increased significantly in recent days and weeks. And if you only had to go according to the value of corona cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the 7 day incidence, the color of the corona traffic light would not only have changed for Vienna.
Six other districts in Corona Red
Because in other districts of Austria the number of cases exceeds 100 per 100,000 inhabitants! In addition to Vienna, a total of six other areas of the country should be dyed red, three of them in Tyrol, two in Lower Austria and one in Vorarlberg. Besides Innsbruck, these include Dornbirn, Landeck, Krems an der Donau, Zwettl, and Innsbruck-Land. In detail:
► Innsbruck per 100,000 inhabitants 113.5 cases
► Dornbirn per 100,000 inhabitants 107.9 cases
► Landeck per 100,000 inhabitants 105.9 cases
► Krems on the Donau per 100,000 inhabitants 104.5 cases
► Zwettl per 100,000 inhabitants 101.8 cases
► Innsbruck Country per 100,000 inhabitants 101.5 cases
The Schwaz district is also at the limit of 100 corona cases per 100,000 inhabitants, but with 90.6 cases it is just below that.
On the national average, the 7-day incidence rose to 55 new corona infections per 100,000 residents. Vienna, Vorarlberg and Tirol are above this average, but currently only the federal capital is above the critical value of 100. Here are the detailed results:
View of the 9 federal states
► Vienna per 100,000 inhabitants 116.5 cases
► Vorarlberg per 100,000 inhabitants 69 cases
► Tirol per 100,000 inhabitants 68.2 cases
► Lower Austria per 100,000 inhabitants 46.1 cases
► Upperösterreich per 100,000 inhabitants 36.1 cases
► Salzburg per 100,000 inhabitants 26 cases
► Burgenland per 100,000 inhabitants 25.5 cases
► Steiermark per 100,000 inhabitants 22.7 cases
► Carinthia per 100,000 inhabitants 10.5 cases
Strong increase in new infections
The coronavirus is still spreading fast in Austria! In the last two days, the number of new infections exceeded 800. On Sunday, the number of new cases did not increase that much, but it was again very high with more than 600 new infections. A total of 621 new corona cases were reported to the ministry, 319 of them in Vienna.
Meanwhile, 8,100 people across Austria are already suffering from Corona, most of them in the federal capital, there are already 4,390 active patients here. And in the other federal states, too, the number of active cases has increased significantly in recent days.
