On matchday two, SCR Altach will face FC Red Bull Salzburg away from home. Martin Kobras and company want to tease the teacher like they did in the spring.

Liveticker

On Saturday afternoon, the SCRA will take the difficult route to Red Bull Arena and would like to take the first championship points of the new season. The Pastoor troop won the only direct duel this year in early March. Thanks to a double from Sidney Sam and a late goal from Zwischenbrugger, the score was 3-2 at the end at CASHPOINT Arena.

Salzburg begins Salzburg style

At the start of the new season, Salzburg made it clear that the championship plaque will only go through the Red Bull Arena this year. In the UNIQA ÖFB Cup, the marching troop Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz topped 10-0, and last weekend they achieved a convincing 3-1 away win against Wolfsberger AC.

Unlike in previous years, the bulls have not sold out this summer. With Hee-chan Hwang, only one regular player from the previous season had to be handed over to sister club RB Leipzig. Other well-known transfer candidates, like Dominik Szoboszlai or Patson Daka, have stayed on board so far and are the core of a once again very strong Salzburg team.

To resist

In the spring, the SCRA itself showed that this seemingly “overwhelming” force can be broken on a very good day. Eleven players who were on the field at the time will also be on the roster on Saturday and will remember what went well in March. Only Sidney Sam, Christian Gebauer and the injured Emanuel Schreiner are no longer at Red Bull Arena.

But Chinedu Obasi could celebrate his Bundesliga debut with SCRA. The German-Nigerian already showed himself at Wednesday’s UNIQA ÖFB Cup with a goal and an assist and is definitely an option for Alex Pastoor.
