The procedure takes time
However, it is not easy or fast. Vienna has a special procedure for naming a square or a street. If the decision is positive, the request goes to the subcommittee to name traffic areas. It meets several times a year for deliberations. The final decision is finally made by the culture committee.
“Once a positive district decision has been made, a technical and historical review is required, on the basis of which the city of Vienna can act and make decisions,” concluded the city councilor’s office.
