US President Trump sees Europe as a role model for containing wildfires; especially in Austria, people in the “forest towns” would live with “exploding” trees.

In an interview, US President Donald Trump named Austria as an example of European “forest cities.” He said so in a phone conversation with Fox News, where he said there are no wildfires in Europe like California. That came from an excerpt from an interview that the progressive website “American Independent” distributed on Twitter on Tuesday.

Europe with more “explosive” trees

“In Europe they have ‘forest cities’. Look at countries like Austria, look at so many countries, they live in forests, these are seen as ‘forest cities’, there are so many.” Even so, the Republican emphasized that there were no forest fires as bad as in California, although there were “more explosive” trees in Europe. But European countries dealt with the dry leaves and fallen trees that served as food for the fire, Trump said.

The president of the United States visited the state of California ravaged by wildfires on Monday. In the capital, Sacramento, he had said that the world climate “would soon turn cold again” and that it received harsh criticism. Trump in particular blames inadequate forest management and a failure to remove dry leaves and brush for the devastating fires.
