The mother of the four-year-old girl heard the sound of a crash and found her son. He was airlifted by rescue helicopter to LKH Graz, where only the boy’s death could be determined, police said Friday night.
The two-axle trailer was parked in a green area in a farm yard and secured with a handbrake and a piece of wood under the wheels. By 3:30 pm it should have started moving and rolling about 40 meters. The trailer eventually crashed into a tree and stopped.
The child’s family members were cared for by a crisis intervention team (KIT team), so further surveys were necessary on the course of the accident. The car trailer was seized on behalf of the Graz prosecutor and will subsequently be evaluated by an expert.
