“We are ready” – with these words LASK coach Dominik Thalhammer opened the day’s press conference before the start of the Bundesliga on Friday (20.30, Sky live, outdoors) against Vienna Austria. In preparation, the Linz team did not have any victories, but now they feel well prepared.
“We are convinced that we will bring our power to the field,” said Thalhammer, who studied intensively in Austria with Neo-Trainer Peter Stöger. “We think we know a lot about our opponents.”
For the Linzers, who still have to do without Goiginger, Potzmann and Karamoko, the match is also a return to what is now the Raiffeisen Arena in the Gugl. In the Bundesliga, the athletes last played there in May 2011.
At the time, LASK had been relegated and they lost 2-1 to Rapid in front of 5,900 fans. In theory, there could be that many today, up to 6400 spectators are allowed in the stadium. There are still enough tickets left, the box office will also be open, but all tickets have to be personalized, so there may be waiting times. Defender Petar Filipovic awaits his return: “I haven’t lost a game here,” recalls the magical nights of the European Cup. “That bodes well.”
