On Thursday, in a 24-hour comparison (at 9:30 a.m.), 664 new infections with the corona virus were reported. There were 387 cases in Vienna alone.
The increase in new corona infections in Austria remains worrying. From Wednesday to Thursday, 664 people tested positive for Covid-19. In recent days the figures were also high with 502 and 520 respectively. On Friday, the government will again present the risk areas at a press conference using a traffic light system.
New corona infections continue to rise
According to figures from the Ministry of the Interior (at 9:30 am), 4,456 people in Austria are currently infected with SARS-CoV-2. 748 people died with or from the consequences of the coronavirus and 26,043 have recovered. The number of people who must be treated in the hospital for Covid-19 has also increased from 197 to 205. 39 of these people must be treated in the intensive care unit. They are three more than the day before. So far, 31,247 positive results have been obtained in Austria.

- Upper Austria: 50
- Salzburg: 9
