The former Austrian-Canadian politician is said to raise nearly € 40 million for his equestrian park in Ebreichsdorf, Lower Austria.
It is no secret that Magna Racino, which opened in 2004 in Ebreichsdorf (Baden district), was for sale. The Austro-Canadian billionaire announced some time ago that after his political retirement – keyword: “Team Stronach” – he would also say goodbye to Austria financially. As reported by “Kurier”, workers were informed this week that Frank Stronach has reached an agreement with a buyer.
Billions with ships
The buyer of the nearly 200-hectare property is said to be “Sakoyah Beteiligungsverwaltungs GmbH”, which was founded in April and is based in the Modenapark in Vienna, a subsidiary of the private Vienna Holster foundation owned by Bremen shipyard owner Peter Lürßen.
Lürssen is the fourth generation to run the Lürssen shipyard with his cousin Friedrich. From the end of the 1980s, the company decided to intensify the production of yachts in addition to that of warships. In 2015, Lürssen delivered the “Azzam”, at 180.65 meters, the longest yacht in the world.
Investment in Palais Schwarzenberg
The Lürßen family of shipbuilders is the second richest family in Bremen with assets worth € 700 million. The industrial family also became known in Austria by acquiring the rights to build a luxury hotel at the Palais Schwarzenberg in Vienna. A total of 80 rooms will be built in the vicinity of the Belvedere.
