On Saturday there were five motorcycle accidents in Lower Austria. Three of them took place on the B21 in the Hohenberg municipality in the Lilienfeld district, two more accidents occurred in the Zwettl district. All the cyclists were injured. Two of the motorcycle’s handlebars come from Vienna.

A 33-year-old motorcyclist from Vienna was riding the B21 from Rohr im Gebirge in the direction of Mariazell when he collided with an animal running across the street. Then he went off the road and fell onto the embankment. The man was taken to Lilienfeld hospital with the ambulance.

Two Viennese among injured cyclists in Lilienfeld

Soon after, the 26-year-old Viennese left the road in a sharp left turn and fell 30 meters down a steep embankment. Oncoming motorcyclists helped the motorcyclist back up the embankment. According to the Lower Austrian State Police Department, he was only slightly injured.

The 38-year-old Styrian ran off the road for a previously unknown cause after a sharp right turn, hit the embankment on the right and then fell onto the handlebars. They took him to the Lilienfeld hospital with the ambulance.

Two injured in motorcycle accidents in Zwettl

Two motorcyclists were injured in traffic accidents in the Zwettl district on Saturday afternoon. A 52-year-old bicyclist went off the road on a left turn at Martinsberg. In Grafenschlag, a 68-year-old man collided with a car while turning and fell, the Lower Austrian state police department reported.

The 52-year-old motorcyclist from the Scheibbs district was traveling with a group from Poggschlag in the direction of Martinsberg when, for an unknown reason, he veered off the road to the right at a left turn, crossed the embankment and stopped in a field . Other motorcyclists in his group provided first aid. The man was then taken to Krems hospital in an emergency helicopter.

The 68-year-old man from the Zwettl district wanted to turn onto the B36 in Grafenschlag when there was a collision with the car of a 57-year-old man. The motorcyclist fell from the collision. He was seriously injured and taken to Sankt Pölten hospital in an emergency helicopter.
