A car occupied by four people went off the road early Sunday morning in Saaz (district of southeastern Styria) and collided with a tree. The 21-year-old driver and his co-pilot of the same age were killed, and two other occupants were injured, some of them life-threatening.

Two 21-year-olds died in the serious traffic accident. As the police announced in a broadcast, a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old were seriously injured or even threatened with life. The car with the four occupants had run off the road and had rolled over, initially the cause of the accident was unknown.

According to police, the four of them were driving a car on Paldauerstraße (L216) around 5:20 a.m. when the car went out of the lane. The vehicle overturned, collided with a tree, and stopped on the roof. The 21-year-old driver and the co-pilot of the same age died at the scene of the accident. The 19-year-old and the 18-year-old in the back seat suffered serious injuries and were admitted to the regional hospitals in Graz and Feldbach.

In addition to a team of emergency doctors and four Red Cross rescue vehicles, the Christophorus 12 rescue helicopter and the Feldbach and Paldau fire services, as well as a crisis intervention team, were on duty.
