In the morning, a 60-year-old man from Salzburg and his 29-year-old son had an accident on the Nockalmstrasse in Carinthia. The father had to brake hard near Ebene Reichenau (Feldkirchen district) because another motorcyclist had passed him. His son also braked hard, rolled over and hit the father’s motorcycle, police said. The severely injured 29-year-old was taken to the Villach regional hospital in the rescue helicopter, his father had suffered minor injuries.
Overtaking accident
Just two hours later, the following accident occurred on Nockalmstrasse. A Carinthian made a left turn in her car, just as she was passed by a motorcycle, driven by a 65-year-old man with a 53-year-old female passenger. The motorcycle rider collided head-on into the driver’s door of the spinning car. Both people were thrown over the car onto the road, the car landed in the ditch.
A 43-year-old Pole was riding his motorcycle on the Grossglockner Alpine road in the afternoon when a 49-year-old motorcycle handlebar from Salzburg approached him from his lane. The two cyclists collided head-on and fell. The Salzburg man was seriously injured, the Pole slightly injured.
