Tourists probably underestimated the tour and had to be rescued.
A group of ten tourists from the Czech Republic and Slovakia started a rafting tour on the Steyr in Hinterstoder (Kirchdorf / Krems district) on Friday without a guide.

The amateur athletes traveled with five inflatable rafting canoes. Shortly before the Stromboding waterfall, the group wanted to dock to avoid the waterfall on the shore. However, two boats capsized and four occupants fell into the water. While three of them made it to the rocky shore, a 31-year-old was aborted, fell down the waterfall and got caught on a roller. Only after several minutes of fighting did the tourist save himself injured on the ground. In trying to help the overturned man, the rest of the group also got into trouble, but was able to get to safety. A hiker who saw the incident sounded the alarm. Mountain rescue, canyoning group and alpine police rescued the vacationers. The wounded man was airlifted to hospital.
