After two rounds, SU Rebenland are with six points and a goal difference of plus six surprisingly at the top of the Oberliga Mitte West table.
In the first home championship game after almost 300 days, coach Patrick Rieger’s team was able to score a strong 5: 0 against SV Pachern in the well-packed Rebenland-Arena. But the game was not that clear at all, especially in the first half. In the first 20 minutes in particular, the guests had great opportunities, but other than a tall man, there was nothing countable. Some good free kick opportunities from Pachern’s Marco Foda also failed to find a goal from Rebenland’s sure goalkeeper, Michael Sammer. Lukas Großschädel’s then somewhat surprising 1: 0 solved the proverbial button in the Rebenländer: attack after attack, quite attractive and quickly combined, and the break after 2: 0 by captain Markus Reinegger fully deserved. Anyone expecting a Pachern assault after the break: Nothing!
The second half started with a lot of pressure from Rebenländer Rotjacken, with the goals falling like an assembly line: Vojko Tominc, Philipp Kasch (ET) and substitute Simon Weiland with a fantastic first goal in the championship finally secured a 5-0 safety. In the next rounds, the new league leader will meet Rein on the road and on September 18. back home to Frohnleiten.
