On Friday night, the FF Wiener Neustadt had to deploy on the highway after a driver collided head-on into a guardrail.

For unknown reasons, a driver from the Baden district lost control of his vehicle on Friday night. He exited the fast lane immediately upon entering the Wiener Neustadt West Expressway and collided head-on with the railing.

As a result of the impact, the vehicle was thrown backward and jammed on the railing against the direction of travel.

The driver was injured indefinitely in the accident and had to be taken to hospital.

The crashed vehicle was lifted off the railing by the FF Wiener Neustadt with a crane. The entrance to the highway was completely closed for the duration of the rescue work.
