An unlicensed drug driver fled a police checkpoint Saturday night in Vienna-Meidling, but was eventually arrested and reported 35 times. According to police spokesman Daniel Fürst, the 31-year-old committed several speeding violations and sped up to 140 km / h. He also ignored several red lights and forced other drivers to stop.

The crew of a patrol car wanted to check in on the driver at Steinbauergasse around midnight. When the 31-year-old noticed the cops, he sped up his car. However, after a few minutes of pursuit, the fugitive ended up in Sonnergasse.

The man tried to hit and kick the officers, but was arrested. During the inspection of the driver and the vehicle, it turned out that the 31-year-old does not have a driver’s license. A medical officer also found that the driver was affected by cocaine.
