A serious truck accident on the Wels motorway near Wels not only caused significant property damage on Thursday morning, but also led to considerable disabilities and a long traffic jam.
The accident occurred on the Wels motorway in the direction of the Wels junction. At the Wels-Nord motorway exit, a semi-trailer truck collided with the shock absorber of the guardrail, the traffic sign at the motorway exit and finally against the column and the switch box of the video surveillance system. The tractor was badly damaged in the accident and the trailer was badly damaged. A truck recovery company had to be called to recover the crashed truck.
The right lane in the construction site area had to be completely closed during the truck’s recovery. This resulted in a significant traffic jam prior to the start of the work.
