Helga Krismer: Mikl-Leitner and his group should finally give up their policy of blocking mobility
In addition, the vice president of Lower Austria and the governor rely on projects such as the third track and the Waldviertel motorway, instead of making real climate protection policies and thus introducing the 365 euro public transport ticket in our state.

St. Pölten (OTS) – NÖN’s current summer interview with Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner shows that, as before, she speaks out against the rapid implementation of the 365 euro public transport ticket for Lower Austria: “In addition, the vice president of Lower Austria and the governor rely on projects such as the third track and the Waldviertel motorway, instead of making real climate protection policies and thus introducing the 365 euro public transport ticket in our state.
Mikl-Leitner could implement the 365 Euro = 1 ticket in Lower Austria at any time, the plans are in the drawer, the costs could be decided in the supplementary budget this fall, “says Green State spokeswoman Helga Krismer.
Vienna and Vorarlberg have shown that there is no need for a federal government, only a willing Lower Austrian vice president and a governor who must give up his policy of blockade. Since 2012, the Greens in Lower Austria have been calling for the 365 euro bill to be implemented and the vice president of the majority group has only given them a clear rejection. The federal government is much more advanced and has committed to the 1-2-3 ticket, a project that has not yet reached our state.
“The Popular Party seems to play an interesting role in our federal state and continues to erase its responsibility and its own failures in public transportation at the federal level, especially when it comes to transportation issues. The expansion of public transportation has been wasted for decades and now you face a lot of broken glass when it comes to modern mobility issues. Apparently, the vice president is afraid of too many public transport users and the pressure to expand that a 365 euro bill will bring. In the eastern region, the average annual price of a ticket is between 1,000 and 1,200 euros. This has been known for years and apparently the head of state does not want any relief for travelers and therefore rejects real climate protection through more public transport in our state, ”concludes Krismer.
