Support and help: inauguration of the psychosocial nursery “werkRaum Tulln”

TULLN / DISTRICT. The Psychosocial Centers (PSZ) gGmbH has been active in Tulln for 27 years in the care and support of people with mental illness. The psychosocial nursery, founded in 1993, offers people who have completed compulsory schooling the opportunity to seek work and employment in a protected environment, develop social skills, expand their own performance and thus facilitate professional and social reintegration. “With its years of experience, PSZ gGmbH is a role model in working with people with mental illness. In addition to support services for those affected, the PSZ also contributes a lot to raising awareness in society. With the new nursery, the facilities offered by the facility can be expanded and customers can receive modern, show-style care, ”explains social counselor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister.

The outdated and too small location on Paracelsusstrasse 2 no longer met the requirements of modern social and professional rehabilitation. After a year of construction, the new, modern, barrier-free property is now officially open. The total cost of this sum is approximately € 2.2 million, and the state of Lower Austria provides a generous grant of € 750,000.
The 750-square-meter ground floor property is located in a large commercial area that can be reached on foot from the train station, with the option of access for trucks and storage rooms. “This also allows us to redesign our offerings in the workshops and develop a realistic and operational offering that also attracts young people and maintains the ability to work in a modern work environment,” says Managing Director Kaukal.

In the new werkRaum, up to 50 people, spread over 35 full-time positions, can now receive support in their professional and social rehabilitation .. “and thus”, according to GF Kaukal, “the growing need for more individual solutions and the future, the increasing demands are well met. ”

State Social Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister emphasizes the long-term cooperation with the Province of Lower Austria: “There is a long-term foundation and good trust between the Province of Lower Austria and its supporting organizations. PSZ gGmbH has been doing great work in and for Lower Austria for over 40 years. “

The werkRaum client representation is also very happy with the creation of new spatial resources and the adjustment to current and contemporary possibilities of professional and social rehabilitation.
