KFV President Klaus Mitterdorfer addressed the announcement of the tightening of the crown’s measures in an open letter to Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. Out of 1,434 games in the adult and youth sector, only seven had to be postponed due to Corona.
CARINTHIA. The president of the Carinthian Football Association, Klaus Mitterdorfer, wrote to Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz in an open letter. The reason is the tightening of measures against the corona virus, which Chancellor Kurz wants to announce on Wednesday. In his letter, Mitterdorfer refers to the positive statistics in Carinthian football regarding Corona: only 0.49% of the games played so far (1,434) could not be played due to a positive Covid 19 infection.
Mitterdorfer appeals to Sebastian Kurz to take into account the positive development of the Carinthian Football Association by tightening the measures. “I am very confident that we will all be able to face this difficult moment with great care and caution in the coming weeks. And the countless young people need their football and the enthusiastic fans their passion for free time,” said the KFV president.
The wording of Klaus Mitterdorfer’s letter:
Dear Federal Chancellor,
In the context of the increasing number of COVID 19 infections and the possible “tightening” of the measures, I would like to tell you about the positive evolution of grassroots football in Carinthia (with spectators) in recent months.
From July 1, training and games with physical contact are possible, as well as spectators in a limited number and with clear rules. As of July 25, competitive matches were held (2 KFV Cup and 5 championship rounds in the adult area and the youth championship has already started).
A total of 916 adult games (championships and test games) and 518 youth games were played. Of these 1,434 games, only 5 adult games and 2 youth games had to be canceled due to Covid infections or suspected cases (all had the same cause) (0.49%).
The enthusiasm of the footballers and the spectators is great, especially in these challenging times you can see the important social significance of our wonderful sport.
The Carinthian Football Association and all member clubs constantly draw the attention of all stakeholders to the need for preventive and hygiene measures.
I am very confident that we will all be able to face this difficult time together over the next few weeks with great care and caution. And the countless youngsters need their football and the enthusiastic fans need their free time.
Dear Chancellor, I ask that you take these circumstances into account when designing the measures.
Thank you very much and greetings from Carinthia.
Mag. Klaus Mitterdorfer, President of KFV
