Bundesliga top scorer Shon Weissman leaves Europa League holder RZ Pellets Wolfsberg for Spain. The third in the table announced it in a broadcast on Monday. The 24-year-old striker for the Israeli team, who scored 30 goals in the national league, will be hunting for Real Valladolid’s goal in La Liga.
The club, which is majority owned by former Brazilian world footballer Ronaldo, will reportedly transfer a transfer fee of six million euros to Weissman. According to Spanish media reports, Weissman arrived in Valladolid on Sunday to complete the mandatory medical check-up. As announced on the 13th of last La Liga season, Isreali signed a contract until the summer of 2024.
Weissman moved from Maccabi Haifa to Wolfsberg on a free transfer last summer. For WAC he not only scored 30 league goals, but also two in the Europa League group stage and five in the ÖFB Cup. In total, Weissman scored 37 goals and eight assists in 40 competitive games for the Carinthians, where his contract would have been extended until June 30, 2021.
“Next” step in my career “
Weissman had already said goodbye to WAC fans on the short message service Twitter on Sunday. “I am taking the next step in my career,” said the attacker, who also thanked the entire club for “always believing in me.” Thanks to Weissman’s goals in the autumn, Wolfsberg will be back in the group stage of the Europa League.
For the WAC now it is the expected rain of millions. At Carinthia’s third championship, Weissman would have been under contract until the end of June 2021. Carinthian had already loaned Serbian striker Dejan Joveljic, 21, from Eintracht Frankfurt. Weissman will start training next week, having previously worked for the Israel national team in the Nations League, Valladolid announced.
