After FC Dornbirn and Austria Lustenau, another second division team caught on Sunday in the first round of the ÖFB Cup: GAK were eliminated after a 1-0 loss to SV Seekirchen at the start.
For the Salzburg regional division, David Ogunlade scores the only goal of the game. The Seekirchner striker left his opponent with a pickle in the 29th minute and happily completed the golden goal off the legs of GAK goalkeeper Chris Weigelt.
The GAK’s supposed equalization in the 94th minute is not due to an offside position.
Former Bundesliga kicker Peter Tschernegg is experiencing a botched debut in the GAK outfit. “We have to take each other by the nose, you cannot present yourself like that,” said the 28-year-old midfielder.
The guests enjoy the triumph to the fullest. “A very nice day for us,” emphasizes Seekirchen coach Alexander Schriebl. The 41-year-old has played 86 times for Salzburg in the Bundesliga.
Schubert keeps shooting blue and white with a four pack
Things are going better for Blau-Weiß Linz. Stahlstädter beat Regionalliga Ost team Wiener Linien with 5: 1.
Fabian Schubert quickly led the second division team with two early goals (4th, 9th), Fabio Strauss was able to increase further in the first round (32nd). At minute 48 Schubert can write for the third time and at minute 70 even the fourth time.
Meanwhile, the Viennese can shorten the game briefly thanks to Filip Drljepan (66th) and lose Aleksandar Milenkovic to a red card (69th).
