Breathe in relief at Aigen-Schlg: The 77-year-old woman, who had been wanted since last night, was found safe and sound. She probably fell last night in a small forest in Aigen and couldn’t get up. “Two women said they saw them walking by,” says fire department commander Thomas Stockinger, the decisive clue that led to the missing person. The lady must have spent the night outdoors. She was slightly injured, hypothermic, and dirty, but she was still fine. “We took a burden off our hearts,” Stockinger said.
The 77-year-old man left the Aigen-Schlgl district nursing and nursing home on foot after lunch around 1 pm He was last seen in the Aigen market square. Then the search began, which lasted all night, without success. “About 40 firefighters, 15 police officers, 20 rescue dogs and a couple of volunteers participated in the search until 3am, and at 8am the next morning we continued searching,” Stockinger says.
On Saturday around 12:45 pm, the pensioner was found after almost twelve hours of intensive searching in the eastern district of Aigen, in a small forest about 500 meters from the house.
