Short-term work is out of the question for the Salzburg company

The Salzburg company Geislinger is cutting 120 jobs at its production site in Bad St. Leonhard in Lavanttal (Wolfsberg district) of Carinthia. CEO Cornelius Geislinger told ORF Carinthia on Thursday.

So far, 500 people have been employed at the plant. Clutches and vibration dampers are manufactured for diesel engines.

Geislinger reacts to the crisis of the crown

“Right now we see the problem that all industries are weakening at the same time. This affects cruise ships, container shipping, wind power and also electricity. It can’t even be repaired because installers can’t travel.” Geislinger said.

Short-term work is out of the question because not only a short-term but also a sustainable decline in business is expected.
