Reinhold Einwallner, a member of the SPÖ National Council, wants to ask the National Council a question. The Austrians disciplinedly adhered to the regulations, did not visit grandparents or put on a face mask to work 40 hours a week, according to Einwallner in a broadcast. “All this obviously does not apply to the Federal Chancellor and the Governor. They ignore the regulations that they themselves decided. They bathe in the crowd and present themselves as heroes at the same time. That is embarrassing.”

The images of the Chancellor’s visit to the Kleinwalsertal would have a devastating effect and would offend all who have meticulously adhered to hygiene standards for weeks. In recent weeks, all parties have worked together to secure public support for the necessary measures. “The Chancellor and Governor of Vorarlberg destroy the confidence of the Austrians in the correct measures in a single media presence.”

The Federal Chancellery said responsibility for the breach of the protective measures had been transferred to the Kleinwalsertaler. “There was a clear call from ÖVP party officials to the population to participate in the chancellor’s jubilee demonstration. Apparently, however, those responsible had not organized a security concept or a security service.”
