In the end, a little cat in Ampflwang (Vöcklabruck district) was very lucky: the four-legged friend, who only had a few days He escaped cruel death in a container press at the last second. It is thanks to an attentive passerby that “Findus”, as the young animal was christened, can now relax on the farm of the Austrian Animal Protection Association in Frankenmarkt.
The woman heard a soft and desperate meow from a trash press and found the kitten in it. “It is only a few days old and cannot have got into the container by itself. It seems that someone would like to get rid of the unwanted young cats,” said the team from the Austrian Association for Animal Welfare.
“He was very lucky”
The search engine immediately contacted the animal rescue service of the Austrian Association for the Protection of Animals. The site was searched for possible siblings, but the cat was alone. The fluffy boy was taken to the Assisi animal protection yard in Frankenburg, where he is now being cared for.
According to animal friends, Findus may have survived the difficulties without sustaining any permanent damage. “He was very lucky. In addition to the fact that a container press is a life-threatening place, kittens at this age survive only a few hours without the heat and care of their mother,” says Ulrike W., director of Assisi farm in Frankenburg. The animal keepers of the Austrian Animal Welfare Association lovingly raise the kitten along with eight other orphan kittens.
Finder gives Findus a new home
The search engine, who had discovered the cat in the garbage press, immediately decided to adopt “Findus”. At six or seven days, however, he is still too young to survive without professional care, and is therefore hand-raised on the Assisi farm in the Vöcklabruck district and gradually socialized. At the age of approximately twelve weeks, “Findus” can move into his new home.
