The cellar compartments were underwater in a few minutes, as the main line had a pipe diameter of around 40 centimeters.

A broken main water pipe in Klagenfurt put about 150 hold compartments several inches underwater during Saturday night. The Klagenfurt fire department blocked the Koschatstrasse for a length of about 500 meters, because the body of the road under the asphalt must have been largely dragged, guard officer Wolfgang Germ said.

The cellar compartments were underwater in a few minutes, because the main line had a pipe diameter of about 40 centimeters. A good amount is already flowing, says Germ. In addition to the owners of the affected compartments, other residents also noted a problem with the water supply: for some, the line pressure was not too high, for others there was temporarily no water.

Municipal works managed to temporarily repair the line in a few hours, so that around 4:00 p.m., all households received water again, Germ said. The fire department pumped the basement. The repair of the dirty street body should start on Monday.
