After his demotion to Alpine men’s ÖSV team A, Manuel Feller “calmed” his fans in a video message.
“No need to worry. Actually, there aren’t many changes. Except they give me two or three fewer jackets,” the tech specialist on Instagram said with a wink.
“You can’t really blame anyone for anything other than myself. There are certain criteria that must be met. I didn’t meet them for whatever reason,” Feller said in the video. Last season, the 27-year-old slowed down with a herniated disc in December. In twelve slalom and giant slalom races, Feller failed to take a single place in the top ten.
Feller said he had repeatedly met people in his career who were looking to blame others and gave himself up to fight: “In the end we have it in our hands. Anyone who gives 100 percent will also step forward.” And: “I am looking forward to the next season.”
Sponsor jumps
Feller not only lost his place in the national team, but also the main sponsor Saalbach. He also expressed understanding for this. “You also can’t be mad at that. Having a sponsor is not a right, it is a privilege. Thank you for three wonderful years,” said Feller, who wants to stay in the ski area. “However, I have to step on the gas a bit to be able to pay for the card,” he said.
In January, Feller caused a sensation with a sharp blow to his critics and then apologized for his language. In March he also published a song about the current coronavirus crisis and added a reggae song in April.
