Die UEFA-Pläne für die auf 2021 verlegte Fußball-EM könnten ins Wanken geraten. Der Wunsch des Dachverbands, das pan-europäische Turnier wie eigentlich geplant auch im nächsten Jahr in den gleichen zwölf Spielorten auszurichten, droht zu platzen. Medienberichten zufolge gibt es in mehreren Städten Probleme mit dem neuen Termin.

Besonders konkret sollen die Probleme mit den neuen Spieldaten der wegen der Corona-Pandemie verlegten EM in Bilbao sein, berichtete der “Kicker”. Die britische “Daily Mail” will auch von ernsthaften Zweifeln beim italienischen Fußballverband am Spielort Rom erfahren haben. Zudem gibt es demnach im ÖFB-Spielort Amsterdam sowie Glasgow, Dublin und am Finalort London Kollisionen mit anderen für 2021 geplanten Veranstaltungen in den jeweiligen Arenen.

12.02 Uhr: Zahl der Todesfälle in Südtirol auf 204 gestiegen

Die Zahl der Personen, die in Südtirol mit oder an einer Covid-19-Erkrankung gestorben sind, hat sich am Sonntag auf 204 erhöht, also um vier mehr als am Vortag. 2.094 Personen wurden in der autonomen Provinz bisher positiv auf das Coronavirus getestet. 489 Personen galten wieder als geheilt, teilte der Südtiroler Sanitätsbetrieb am Ostersonntag mit.

208 Erkrankte mussten in den sieben Krankenhäusern des Südtiroler Sanitätsbetriebs, in den Privatkliniken sowie in der Einrichtung in Gossensaß betreut werden. 34 Patienten wurden auf den Intensivstationen behandelt. Weitere acht Intensivpatienten waren in österreichischen und deutschen Krankenhäusern untergebracht.

Mit Stand Sonntagmittag befanden sich in Südtirol 3.236 Personen in amtlich verordneter Quarantäne oder Isolation, weitere 4.587 hatten diese bereits hinter sich. 211 Mitarbeiter des Südtiroler Sanitätsbetriebs, sowie elf Basisärzte und zwei Basiskinderärzte hatten sich mit dem Coronavirus infiziert.

11.38 Uhr: Bach weist Vorwürfe zurück: “Nicht aus Bauchgefühl”

IOC-Präsident Thomas Bach wehrt sich gegen Vorwürfe eines zu zögerlichen Handelns bei der Verlegung der Olympischen Spiele ins Jahr 2021. Er könne die Emotionen gut nachvollziehen. “Als Verantwortungsträger darf man in solchen emotionalen Situationen aber nicht aus dem Bauchgefühl heraus entscheiden“, sagte Bach der deutschen Zeitung “Welt am Sonntag”.

Die Spiele sollen nun vom 23. Juli bis 8. August 2021 stattfinden. Die Kosten der Verschiebung seien “im Moment noch nicht absehbar”, sagte Bach. “Für uns, das IOC, werden sich Zusatzkosten von mehreren Hundert Millionen Dollar ergeben, das lässt sich jetzt schon sagen.”

11.25 Uhr: Längerer Stillstand wohl nicht verkraftbar

Der deutsche Insolvenzverwalter und Sanierungsexperte Christopher Seagon fürchtet nicht beherrschbare Folgen für die deutsche Wirtschaft, sollte die Politik die Beschränkungen für Unternehmen wegen der Corona-Krise bis in den Mai oder Juni beibehalten. Er habe “Zweifel, dass das für unsere Wirtschaft verkraftbar ist”, sagte Seagon dem “Spiegel”.

Ein längerer Shutdown könne “rasch auch die bisherigen Milliardenhilfspakete der Regierung überfordern”. Für den Insolvenzverwalter ist die derzeitige Krise “deutlich dramatischer” als alles bisher Erlebte, einschließlich der Finanzkrise 2008. Seagon plädiert daher dafür, dass der Staat sich in der Not auch an Firmen beteiligen müsse – und zwar in Form einer “Treuhandanstalt 2.0.”.

11.09 Uhr: Athen: Türkei akzeptiert keine Rückführunge

Der Flüchtlingspakt zwischen der EU und der Türkei findet praktisch seit Anfang März keine Anwendung mehr. Ankara nehme wegen der Corona-Pandemie keine Migranten mehr aus Griechenland auf, sagte der griechische Migrationsminister Notis Mitarakis der Athener Zeitung “Ethnos” am Sonntag.

10.53 Uhr: Lockerungen bereiten Regierung mehr Kopfzerbrechen als Freude

Blickt man in die USA, nach Italien, Frankreich, Spanien, auch Belgien, Holland, Schweden, sieht es so aus, als ob Österreich Covid-19 – derzeit – unter Kontrolle hätte. Die Angst ist bei Türkis-Grün aber groß, dass das Experiment ab Dienstag schiefgeht.

10.30 Uhr: Ab Ostermontag wieder Frühmessen mit dem Papst

Nach einer Pause an den Kartagen und am Ostersonntag nimmt Papst Franziskus ab Ostermontag die Feier seiner seit einem Monat live übertragenen Frühmessen wieder auf. Auf “Vatican News” werde der Gottesdienst in der Kapelle des vatikanischen Gästehauses Santa Marta ab 13. April wieder täglich um 7.00 Uhr und auch mit deutschsprachigem Kommentar übertragen, kündigte die deutschsprachige Redaktion des Vatikan-Portals laut Kathpress an.

10.20 Uhr: 108-Jährige an Italiener: “Bleibt zu Ostern zu Hause”

Die Kleinstadt Citta di Castello in der mittelitalienischen Region Umbrien hat am Ostersonntag auf ihrer Webseite ein Video mit den Glückwünschen ihrer 108-jährigen Mitbürgerin Luisa Zappitelli veröffentlicht. Die 1911 geborene Frau, die die spanische Grippe und zwei Weltkriege überlebte, rief ihre Landsleute auf, die Ausgangsbeschränkungen zu befolgen und zu Ostern zu Hause zu bleiben.

“Heute muss man mehr denn je zum Herrgott beten”, sagte Oma Lisa, so wie sie in der Kleinstadt von ihren Mitbürgern genannt wird. Der Bürgermeister von Citta di Castello, Luciano Bacchetta, bezeichnete Luisa Zappitelli als eine “Zeugin unserer Geschichte voller Weisheit”. “Wir müssen uns im Kampf gegen die Pandemie von ihr inspirieren lassen”, sagte der Bürgermeister. Alte Menschen seien der “Stolz” Italiens.

In Italien, einem der weltweit am stärksten von der Pandemie betroffenen Länder, sind viele ältere Menschen dem Covid-19 erlegen. Das Durchschnittsalter der Opfer liegt bei 80 Jahren. Vor allem in Seniorenheimen ist die Sterberate wegen des Virus hoch.

08.42 Uhr: 2.821 neue Infektionen in Deutschland

Die Zahl der bestätigten Infektionsfälle in Deutschland ist nach Angaben des Robert-Koch-Institutes (RKI) um 2.821 auf 120.479 gestiegen. Binnen 24 Stunden seien 129 weitere Todesfälle gemeldet worden, teilt das RKI auf seiner Internetseite mit. Damit starben bisher 2.673 Menschen in Zusammenhang mit dem Coronavirus.

08.14 Uhr: “G-20 sollen Geld für Impfstoff-Entwicklung geben”

Bill gates hat die G-20-Staaten aufgerufen, mehr Geld für die Entwicklung eines Impfstoffs gegen das neue Coronavirus bereitzustellen. Die G-20 sollten mit einem “wirksamen finanziellen Engagement nicht länger zögern”, schrieb der Microsoft-Gründer.

07.20 Uhr: Über 500 Soldaten auf US-Flugzeugträger positiv getestet

Mehr als jeder zehnte der 4.800 Marinesoldaten an Bord des US-Flugzeugträgers “USS Theodore Roosevelt” ist positiv auf das Coronavirus getestet worden. 92 Prozent der Besatzung seien bisher getestet worden, teilte die US-Marine am Samstag mit. Bei 550 Besatzungsmitgliedern sei der Test positiv ausgefallen, bei 3.673 negativ.

07.18 Uhr: China meldet neuen Höchststand importierter Fälle

China hat am Sonntag die bisher höchste Zahl importierter Infektionsfälle mit dem Coronavirus an einem Tag gemeldet. Von insgesamt 99 neu registrierten Infektionen seien 97 aus dem Ausland importiert gewesen, teilte die Gesundheitskommission mit.

Betroffen sind vor allem Näherinnen, die die Kleidung für Modeketten wie C&A oder H&M fertigen.

04.49 Uhr: “Der Coronavirus wird uns nicht bezwingen”

Die britische Königin Elizabeth II. hat sich am Samstag erstmals mit einer Osterbotschaft an die Öffentlichkeit gewandt. “Ostern ist nicht abgesagt, tatsächlich brauchen wir Ostern so sehr wie eh und je”, sagte die Monarchin in einer Audiobotschaft, die auf dem Twitter-Account der Königsfamilie veröffentlicht wurde. Die Geschichte über die Auferstehung Christi vom Tod könne nun Hoffnung geben, so die beinahe 94-Jährige. “Wir wissen, dass uns das Coronavirus nicht bezwingen wird. So düster der Tod sein kann – vor allem für Trauernde – Licht und Leben sind größer.” Sie wünsche allen, gleich welchen Glaubens und welcher Konfession ein gesegnetes Ostern, sagte die Queen.

Bundeskanzler Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) hat in einem offenen Brief der österreichischen Bevölkerung gedankt. “Österreich ist bisher besser durch diese Krise gekommen als viele andere Länder und der Grund dafür sind Sie alle”, so Kurz in dem zu Ostern veröffentlichten Schreiben. 03.11 Uhr: Zahl der Todesopfer wächst wieder

In Italien wächst wieder die Zahl neuer Coronavirus-Todesopfer. Nachdem am Freitag 570 Todesfälle gemeldet worden waren, stieg die Zahl der Gestorbenen am Samstag auf 619, womit die Zahl der Gestorbenen seit Pandemie-Beginn auf insgesamt 19.468 angewachsen ist. Die Zahl der Infizierten überragte erstmals die 100.000-Schwelle und stieg auf 100.269. 28.144 Covid-19-Patienten liegen in den italienischen Krankenhäusern, 3.381 davon auf der Intensivstation, das sind 116 weniger gegenüber Freitag. Die Zahl der Genesenen kletterte auf 32.534, teilte der Zivilschutz bei einer Pressekonferenz am Samstag in Rom mit. Die Zahl der Patienten in Heimisolierung lag bei 68.744.

02.50 Uhr: Mehr als 18.800 Tote

Wie die in Baltimore ansässige Johns-Hopkins-Universität am Samstag mitteilte, starben in den USA mindestens 18.860 Menschen nach einer Infektion mit dem neuartigen Coronavirus.
