Starting next weekend, the soldiers will be deployed to the state service center in Linz. In return, the soldiers of Ried im Innkreis are sent to Vienna to guard the embassy.
To support local contact tracing, 80 Carinthian soldiers will be sent to Upper Austria on an assistance mission from the weekend. Soldiers from Command Support Battalion 1 in Villach move to Hörsching. The advance command had already arrived on Friday, the rest should follow on Saturday, reported the Upper Austrian military command.
Soldiers support the contact tracing group at the state service center in Linz and will register contact persons in two shifts per day, distribute cases to responsible district authorities and enter data. Attendance assignment starts Saturday afternoon, how long will it last is still open.
Around 90 soldiers are already deployed in Upper Austria to support the health authorities in the districts and the Magistrate of Wels. Upper Austrian military commander Dieter Muhr also announced that in two weeks a unit from the 13th Panzer Grenadier Battalion in Ried im Innkreis would move to Vienna to protect the embassy.
