Austria is about to enter the second lockdown. 7,063 new corona infections were reported in Austria on Saturday.
Crown numbers remain dramatically high in Austria. After a peak of 9,586 new infections on Friday, 7,063 new cases were recorded on Saturday, 1,331 of them in Vienna. Additionally, 85 people died as a result of Covid 19 infection.
Most of the cases occurred in Upper Austria (1,665). The number of positive results is divided among the nine federal states as follows:

➤ NÖ: 1,026
➤ Upper Austria: 1,665
➤ Salzburg: 510
➤ Steiermark 982
➤ Tirol 523
➤ Vorarlberg: 362
➤ Vienna: 1,331
Comment on the figures for the federal states: Fully infected people in the state of Salzburg due to technical difficulties were calculated on Saturday by extrapolation based on yesterday’s morning report.
584 in intensive care
So far 198,291 positive results have been obtained in Austria. As of today (November 14, 2020, 9:30 am) 1,746 people in Austria have died as a result of the coronavirus and 119,415 have recovered. Currently, 4,026 people are in hospital treatment due to the coronavirus and 584 of them are in intensive care units.
According to data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Austria is clearly behind in the fight against the pandemic. In an average of seven days, France has been overtaken and is now the sad leader in global terms. This shows that the tightening in early November had little effect.
The government has already decided on another full lockdown, to be announced on Saturday.
