There were 6,464 new infections with the corona virus in Austria on Friday.

In a 24-hour comparison, there were 6,464 new coronavirus infections recorded in Austria on Friday (at 9:30 am). 72 deaths were also reported within 24 hours.
On Friday, 6,464 new coronavirus infections were reported in 24 hours after yesterday’s record of 7,416 new cases. 1,340 people have died in connection with Covid-19, an increase of 72 deaths. There were 1,082 deaths last Friday, so 258 people died with an infection in a week, down from 128 the week before, that’s a doubling of deaths.
6,464 new corona infections on Friday
Almost 3,000 people, exactly 2,925 (as of 9:30 am) are hospitalized, 421 of them intensive, the Ministry of the Interior reported this Friday. Last Friday there were 263, which means an increase of 60 percent in this critical area. 83,707 have recovered after being infected with SARS-CoV-2, so currently 53,932 people are actively infected.
Regarding the number of new infections, the majority came from Upper Austria (1,532), the remaining federal states of Austria are divided as follows: Burgenland: 214, Carinthia: 206, Lower Austria: 510, Salzburg: 678, Styria: 981, Tyrol: 817, Vorarlberg: 320, Vienna: 850.
