From Tuesday to Wednesday there are a total of 6,211 new corona infections in Austria. There are currently 2,584 people in hospital treatment, 383 of them in intensive care.
New infections are divided into federal states as follows: Upper Austria (1,510), Tyrol (1,143), Lower Austria (880), Vienna (845), Styria (461), Salzburg (437), Carinthia (426) , Vorarlberg (306) and Burgenland (203).
“Magic” mark reached
Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said last week that the 6,000 new infections limit would be the “magic” limit. From this moment there is a risk of overload in hospitals. This limit has now been clearly exceeded. The new blockade measures will take between 7 and 10 days to take effect.
Yesterday there were also new data problems. The state of Lower Austria did not report the number of new infections because there were technical problems with the registry. Additionally, AGES also had issues with data output on its dashboard.
