The situation for the crown in Austria remains tense. On Saturday, the federal government announced a second lockdown to control infections, after a peak of 9,586 new infections on Friday. 5,665 new infections were reported on Sunday. However, there are usually fewer tests on the weekend.

More recently, new infections were highest in Upper Austria. On Sunday there were more cases in Vienna (1,106). The number of positive results is divided among the nine federal states as follows:

Carinthia: 333

Lower Austria: 1,102

Upper Austria: 1,041

Salzburg: 245

Steiermark: 561

Tyrol: 848

Vorarlberg: 272

Vienna: 1,106

So far, there have been 203,956 positive results in Austria. As of today (November 15, 2020, 9:30 a.m.), 1,829 people in Austria have died as a result of the coronavirus and 125,674 have recovered.

599 in the intensive care unit

There are currently 4,178 people undergoing hospital treatment for the corona virus and 599 of them are in intensive care units.

According to data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), Austria is clearly behind in the fight against the pandemic.
