A total of 556 new infections were reported in Austria on Monday. Most of them again in Vienna (242).
There were 556 new corona cases in Austria on Monday, more than 100 fewer than the day before. The value is usually lower on Mondays because there is less testing on weekends. Vienna (242) and Lower Austria (117) remain at the top in the statistics.

So far, 43,432 positive test results have been obtained in Austria. As of today (September 28, 2020, 9:30 am), 790 people in Austria have died from the consequences of the corona virus and 34,052 have recovered. Currently 469 people are in hospital treatment due to the coronavirus and 88 of them are in intensive care units.
Why the numbers on the board may differ
The dashboard of the Ministry of Health is a dynamic system and extracts its data from the Epidemiological Population Registry (EMS). The EMS is the official registry that district authorities and laboratories enter. According to the Interior Ministry, there may be delays in making entries, especially in the morning.
In the Ministry of the Interior, for its part, the figures are collected through a videoconference as part of the coordination of the state management of crises and disasters in the Operations and Coordination Center (EKC). These figures may include cases that are not yet registered with EMS.
