5,226 new corona infections in Austria on Sunday – Coronavirus Vienna

In 24 hours, 5,226 new infections with the coronavirus were reported in Austria. As usual, that was significantly less on a Sunday than the days before. However, the death toll with another 60 deaths was well below the triple-digit death toll on Friday and Saturday.

Occupancy in the normal and intensive care units of hospitals also decreased slightly, according to the 9:30 am data from the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health.

Consequently, 4,458 Covid 19 patients were receiving hospital treatment on Sunday morning, 139 fewer than the day before. 683 of them received intensive care, a decrease of 14 patients. However, there were 280 more infected in normal areas and 84 more in intensive care units than on Sunday a week ago.

Furthermore, there was an average of around 80 deaths per crown per day in Austria during the last seven days. Including the other 60 victims from the day before, 2,388 infected people have died so far. The number of active cases decreased by 1,343 compared to the day and by 130 affected compared to the week to a value of 75,540.

Almost a quarter of a million people in this country have already been infected with SARS-CoV-2. On Sunday morning, 247,188 positive tests were reported. There were also 29,831 tests from Saturday to Sunday, which was only slightly below the average of the previous seven days (30,508) over a weekend. 169,260 people are considered to have recovered so far.
