4,453 new infections in Austria – the highest number since the pandemic outbreak

For the first time, a federal state has passed the 1,000 mark with new infections. From Wednesday to Thursday, 1,074 cases were registered in Lower Austria. However, the day before there were very few new infections in the state at 103, suggesting that the data was only added to the Resident Epidemiological Registry (EMS) today.

821 new infections were recorded in Vienna, 796 in Upper Austria. In the rest of the federal states, 584 people in Tyrol, 355 in Styria, 276 in Vorarlberg, 262 in Salzburg, 166 in Krnten and 119 in Burgenland were recently infected with infected SARS-CoV-2.
