In the last 24 hours from Friday to Saturday, 3,444 new corona virus infections were recorded in Austria. Most of the new infections this time were in Lower Austria.
Lower Austria recorded 647 new corona virus infections in the last 24 hours, followed by Vienna with 569 and Upper Austria with 559 new infections. The federal state of Burgenland reports the fewest new infections.
New corona infections by federal state
New infections since the last report are distributed among the Austrian federal states as follows:
- Burgenland: 86
- Carinthia: 154
- Lower Austria: 647
- Upper Austria: 559
- Salzburg: 231
- Steiermark: 580
- Tyrol: 397
- Vorarlberg: 221
- Vienna: 569
So far 300,689 positive results have been obtained in Austria. As of today (December 5, 2020, 9:30 am), 3,757 people in Austria have died from the consequences of the coronavirus and 249,441 have recovered. Currently, 3,877 people are in hospital treatment due to the coronavirus and 646 of them are in intensive care units.
