The situation for the crown in Vorarlberg remains tense. 319 new infections were recorded on Saturday.
In Vorarlberg, 319 new Covid infections were recorded on Saturday. With 191 recoveries at the same time, the number of actively infected increased by 128 people and with 3,293 cases it is still well above the 3,000 mark.
After four coronavirus-related deaths were reported Thursday and Friday, there were no more deaths on Saturday. 49 people have died with or from the coronavirus in Vorarlberg since the outbreak of the pandemic.
In Vorarlberg hospitals, 140 patients with Covid-19 currently have to be treated. Of the 140 hospitalized, 27 people had to receive intensive care on Saturday afternoon.
Situation in the communities
In eight other municipalities in Vorarlberg (Dornbirn, Lustenau, Bregenz, Feldkirch, as well as Hohenems, Hard, Bludenz and Lauterach) there were (well) more than 100 active cases each. The 1980s mark was surpassed at Frastanz, Götzis and Wolfurt. More than 50 infected people from Rankweil, Höchst, Koblach and Altach were also reported. This means that around two-thirds of all active coronavirus infections in Vorarlberg are distributed among these 15 municipalities. Only nine of the 96 communities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus on Saturday.
Highest incidence in 7 days
According to the Corona board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg also had the worst value of all Austrian federal states with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants on Saturday. With 687 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, Vorarlberg was ahead of Upper Austria (661) and Tyrol (568).
The Austrian average was 447.
According to AGES data, the seven-day incidence is currently more than 550 in all districts of Vorarlberg. At 902, the Dornbirn district currently has the sixth highest value of all Austrian districts.
Situation in Austria
On Saturday there was again a high value for new infections with SARS-CoV-2 in Austria. 8,241 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours. This means that the number of new infections recorded per day has exceeded 8,000 for the first time. For the first time since the start of the pandemic, more than 3,000 Covid-19 patients were treated at the hospital. Of these, 432 people required intensive care. The death toll rose 37 to 1,377 on Saturday.
