Murder on Favoriten: A DJ and poker player is said to have killed his girlfriend. It is also currently determining if there are other suspects.
In the massive Per Albin Hansson housing estate in Favoriten, the 33-year-old suspect is said to have first killed his 30-year-old girlfriend and then took his own life, “Today” reported. As a police spokesperson now explained, the woman was killed by severe blows to the head and upper body. The murder weapon was a hammer that the police were able to secure in the homicide apartment. It is not yet clear how the alleged killer died.
The door was open
A major mystery in the investigation is the fact that the door to the crime scene apartment had apparently been open for several days. Therefore, “the investigation is being carried out in all directions. At the moment, it cannot be completely ruled out that other suspects were involved at the scene of the incident,” said police spokesman Jammer. As it turned out in the course of previous investigations, the door to the apartment has apparently been open since the weekend. However, residents had not contacted the police until Monday night.

Furthermore, it has since emerged that the two people found dead in the apartment are Austrian citizens. According to the police, the 30-year-old had no official relationship with the apartment. Also, it has not yet been clarified what relationship he actually had with the 33-year-old DJ and poker player, Jammer said.
The State Criminal Police Office is currently doing the “complex” job of the crime scene at the crime apartment, and the investigation is in full swing. Neighbors are questioned as possible witnesses, although the interviews have not yet been fully completed.
A police spokesman also reported that the alleged perpetrator was “officially known”, including for violent crimes. According to the current state of knowledge, the 33-year-old could not be linked to domestic violence.
The results of the autopsy are not yet available, they are expected in the coming days.
