2. League

Austria Klagenfurt lost 2-1 in the 2nd division to FC Juniors OÖ on Friday and were unable to close the gap with the superior duo FC Liefering and SV Lafnitz. The league leaders who are not eligible for promotion and the surprising chaser have a chance to walk away for the weekend and extend their lead to nine and eight points respectively. GAK won the hit of the afternoon against Wacker Innsbruck 3-0.

In Pasching, Carinthians raced after a penalty goal by Fabian Benko (25th) and a goal by Thomas Sabitzer (32nd) before the break for 0-2. Markus Pink only achieved the connecting goal (40th). In the end Klagenfurt coach Robert Micheu (86th) was sentenced to the stands for criticism of the traffic light card and later Simon Straudi (92nd) was also excluded for stealing goals.

Klagenfurt, who only won two of the last seven matches, is five points behind Lafnitz, who only played against Blau Weiß Linz on Sunday morning, with one more match. Liefering meets Vorwärts Steyr at home on Saturday evening. The LASK farm team finished a three-loss series with their third win of the season and scored points in the relegation battle. There was also Amstetten 3-2 against Lustenau and Kapfenberg. Styrians prevailed 3-0 at the bottom of Rapid II.

Juniors Upper Austria put the brakes on Klagenfurt

Juniors OÖ celebrate a 2-1 home win against Austria Klagenfurt. For the Carinthians this is a setback in the career advancement.

For Innsbruck, a series of five undefeated matches including four victories ended with a 0: 3 at GAK, which topped Wacker in the table. The fourth Grazers, like the third Klagenfurt, have 20 points, the Tyrolese have one point less than the sixth. Wacker played in Graz in the first half without incident and without offensive power. Even after the reboot, little came together. So the success of the Styrians at home was no surprise.

Match winner Mihajlovic for GAK

“Joker” Slobodan Mihajlovic became the winner of the match. The 23-year-old midfielder scored four minutes after his substitution from outside the box in the corner (63) and subsequently acted as the perfect assistant when Martin Harrer (77) and Petar Zubak (90) scored. The GAK were able to celebrate for the sixth time this season, the 0: 2 at Horn being forgotten.

GAK celebrates home win over Innsbruck

GAK retain a clear 3-0 win against Wacker Innsbruck. In the table, the team from Graz beats its competitors and is fourth.

The game planned for Friday night between Horn and the FAC was previously canceled. The course in the Horn of Lower Austria is unplayable due to the amount of snow, the Bundesliga announced. The game was postponed by the league to Saturday at 7 p.m.
