Currently, 4,055 people in Vorarlberg are actively infected with Covid-19. 223 patients with a crown are in hospital treatment.

Since midnight Wednesday, 291 new infections have been recorded in Vorarlberg, with 327 recoveries.

The number of actively infected people dropped from 4,094 to 4,055 cases (as of 4 pm). However, three other people died with or from the corona virus on Thursday. According to the country’s dashboard, 81 people have died in relation to the coronavirus, 61 of them since Sept. 24.

15 intensive care beds left

44 Corona patients have been admitted and 19 discharged from Vorarlberg hospitals since Wednesday. There are currently 223 patients with corona (more than 23) in hospital treatment, 44 of them, three more than the day before, were in the intensive care unit. Of the intensive care beds available nationwide, 15 (minus one) remained free.

Slight relaxation for hospital employees

There was a slight relaxation in the number of infected hospital employees. 124 (minus nine) were infected with the corona virus, 93 (minus 14) other employees were quarantined as contact persons.

Districts

Most of the active corona cases are still in the Bregenz district (1350). They are followed by Feldkirch (1,099), Dornbirn (1019) and Bludenz (543).

Communities

On Thursday afternoon, the number of cases in 12 communities was (much) over 100, with the city of Dornbirn (512) leading the way ahead of Bregenz (303), Feldkirch (295) and Lustenau (291). Only three of the 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.

Seven-day incidence

According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg had the second worst value of all Austrian federal states for the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants on Thursday. With 714 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, the state was behind Salzburg (721) and ahead of Upper Austria (663).

The Austrian average was 498.

The four districts of Vorarlberg currently have an incidence of more than 600 in 7 days. The Dornbirn district continues to be the worst hit in Vorarlberg.
