According to police, the man’s car skidded around 5pm on the road to Salzburg in Hhe Laakirchen for an inexplicable cause, hit a guardrail on the right edge of the lane, and was then overturned by an oncoming truck.

The truck was driven by a 49-year-old man from the district of Baden. A 68-year-old later driver from Kufstein also collided with the unfortunate 25-year-old driver’s car. Despite resuscitation measures being promptly initiated, he died at the scene of the accident. He had been trapped under the truck and had to be released by the fire department. The 68-year-old driver of the following car was slightly injured in the collision and was taken to the Salzkammergut Klinikum Vcklabruck.

The police ask witnesses to the accident to report to the Seewalchen motorway police station at 059133/4173.
