Stable situation in intensive care units

Of the 79 intensive care beds available in the country, 36, four fewer than the last, were occupied by patients with a crown. This meant that 28 intensive care beds were still available for all patient groups on Wednesday morning, four more than the day before. A total of 174 corona patients were treated in hospitals, 13 less than the previous day.

The number of infected hospital employees decreased again: 91 (minus 13) were infected with the coronavirus, another 43 employees were in quarantine, which was also 13 less than the previous day.

Figures of the municipalities

As of Wednesday afternoon, there were 15 municipalities in Vorarlberg with more than 50 actively infected. In nine municipalities, the number of cases was (much) higher than 100, the city of Dornbirn was still the favorite, ahead of Feldkirch, Bregenz and Lustenau. About 70 percent of all active coronavirus infections in Vorarlberg were distributed among these 15 communities. Five of the 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.

The seven-day incidence is falling

According to the crown board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg had a significantly better value on Wednesday with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants than the previous one. With 451 new infections per 100,000 residents in the past seven days, the state fared better than Salzburg, Upper Austria, Tyrol and Carinthia.

Austria’s average on Wednesday was 414.

The districts of Vorarlberg are no longer among the worst affected areas in Austria. The four districts of Vorarlberg have a seven-day incidence between 380 and 510 and are therefore roughly in the center of Austria.
