Constituent session; Government statement debate
Vienna (OTS / RK) – Following an interruption by the establishment of the Vienna Landtag, the municipal council resumed its session at 6:35 pm.
GR Maximilian Krauss (FPÖ) said that the intergovernmental agreement allowed “essentially a single SPÖ government”; the NEOS reportedly handed over their “values and program to the wardrobe when they entered the government.” According to Krauss, the issue of security would be completely absent from the government program, despite the “decline in the subjective feeling of security in Vienna.” Krauss criticized that no status was even granted to “the growing radical Islamist tendencies”, although the November 2 terrorist attack was still “deep in the bones” of many Viennese. Even under red-rose, one has to continue with the “wrong welcome policy”. Krauss tabled several motions, including convening commissions of inquiry on minority rights and holding public hearings prior to appointments.
GR Markus Ornig, MBA (NEOS) said that the coalition negotiations have always focused on one goal: helping the city of Vienna, its employees and entrepreneurs to emerge from the crown crisis. The result was a “very ambitious program” that would cut red tape, reduce workload and invest in the future. The SPÖ and NEOS have agreed to “look through” existing laws and regulations to make processes easier for companies, make them as less bureaucratic as possible and eliminate “outdated regulations”. Similarly, taxes should be checked to see if they are “significant and accurate,” Ornig said. There will also be new regulations for the markets, so catering should also be offered there on Sundays in the future; main open times should also decrease. The idea of a night mayor will also materialize. The new city government is paying particular attention to creating jobs for apprentices and older workers. The “50plus labor offensive” will continue; In terms of apprenticeship training, there is also the objective of expanding training in companies. (Cont.) Sep
