So far, 353,484 positive results have been obtained in Austria. 5,931 people (plus 50) have died as a result of the corona virus and 326,768 (plus 3,766) have recovered. This reduced the number of actively ill people from 2,224 to 20,785 today. There are currently 2,510 people in hospital treatment, 421 of them in intensive care units. That’s 53 or seven more than the day before. On November 25, the maximum number of intensive care patients was measured, as 709 people had to be cared for in intensive care.
The new corona cases (1592) are divided among the federal states as follows:
- Upper Austria: 323
- Lower Austria: 314
- Vienna: 242
- Salzburg: 211
- Steiermark: 140
- Tirol: 128
- Vorarlberg: 105
- Crowns: 85
- Burgenland: 44
The day before, there were 1,408 new infections. But that was still below the seven-day average of 1,873. However, the number of tests was slightly below the weekly average due to the holidays.
From Sunday to Monday, 21,246 tests were conducted across Austria, just below the seven-day average of 23,464. The proportion of positive samples was 7.5 percent, which is a decrease compared to the weekly average of 0.5 percent. The seven-day incidence, the number of new infections in seven days per 100,000 population, increased slightly from 146.5 to 147.3.
