According to police, 1,500 protesters demonstrated against measures against the corona pandemic in central Vienna on Monday afternoon. According to police spokesman Markus Dittrich, there were serious violations of the Covid 19 Measures Act. The minimum distance was not maintained, the protesters did not wear masks.

The police then contacted the Vienna City Medical Crisis Team, which involved the city’s health authority (MA 15). According to the Covid-19 regulation, only this can give the instruction to dissolve said meeting. This decided that the demonstration would continue. According to the police, there was also a demonstration against it with around 140 participants.
