Austrian health authorities have registered 5,593 new cases of corona in the last 24 hours. This is 340 less than what was reported on Sunday, but it was more than 1,500 higher than the value of Monday of the previous week.
According to figures from the Ministry of the Interior and Health, 158,746 positive results have been recorded since the pandemic began. With 1,454 people who have died from or with the coronavirus and 94,627 people who have recovered from Covid-19, this means that there are currently 62,665 people actively infected.
Ten deaths were reported Monday. Those affected were between 62 and 99 years old.
Therefore, all hospitals, except the approval, were also given. Currently, 3,229 people must be treated in hospitals for Covid-19, of which 474 were in intensive care units on Monday. It was 15 more than on Sunday.
Upper Austria at the top nationally
The highest number of positive test results was again recorded in Upper Austria with 1,489. Lower Austria came in second with 891 positive tests, followed by Vienna with 711 new infections and Styria with 706. Tirol followed with 561, Salzburg with 458 and Vorarlberg with 426. 188 new infections were reported in Burgenland and 163 in Krnten.
Some 29,400 inhabitants of Upper Austria were in quarantine. In 86 nursing homes and retirement homes, 336 employees and 372 residents tested positive for the Crown.
