Two of the shootings were in a street-side spa in east-east Atlanta and the other was in Cherokee County, northwest of the city.
Officials in each jurisdiction said there were no immediate indications of a motive and it was unclear whether the shooting was related.
About 3/2 hours after the murder – about 150 miles south of Atlanta, a suspect in the Cherokee County shooting in Crisp County was taken into custody. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office identified him as 21-year-old Robert Aaron Lung of Woodstock.
Deputies were called to Young’s Asian Massage near Aquorth, Georgia, for reports of the shooting, Cherokee County Sheriff’s spokesman Jay Baker said.
Reacting suburbs found five people with gunshot wounds. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene and three were taken to hospital, where two died, Baker said.
The massage parlor Atlanta is about 30 miles from the shooting site, which happened about an hour later.
Atlanta police said they are responding to a robbery call at Gold Massage Spa on Pidmont Road in Atlanta and three people have been found dead.
Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant said police there received a second call of shots fired directly on the road at the Aromatherapy Spa, where they found the body of a man.
Bryant said all four of the victims were women and appeared to be Asian, adding that it was too early to say what their connection to the spa was.
